My Philosophy
The longer the bankruptcy process takes, the less likely it is that a business will emerge from that process successfully or that creditors will receive a fair recovery on their claims. The correct approach is act quickly and efficiently. This requires an experienced attorney with expert knowledge of the law and who takes a personal interest in your case.
I am New York bankruptcy attorney Robert N. Michaelson. My legal practice is dedicated to helping small- to mid-sized businesses faced with disabling or crippling debt through out-of-court restructuring or, if necessary, through a Chapter 7 liquidation or a Chapter 11 reorganization. In addition to debtors, I also represent the interests of both foreign and domestic creditors, asset purchasers, lenders, trustees, examiners and creditors' and equity committees nationwide, as well as law firms that require local or conflicts counsel in New York.
I form strong bonds with my clients and work with them as a team. I respect the wisdom and business acumen of my clients and never presume to know more than they do about their business and their needs. Likewise, I expect my clients to respect my knowledge and experience about the bankruptcy process achieved through almost 30 years of practice as a bankruptcy attorney at the highest levels. Together, we can and will obtain the best possible result in the most efficient manner.
